Lesson Study

Lesson Study Methodology

Lesson Study Methodology is a process in which a group of teachers work cooperatively in order to plan, teach, observe, analyze and share the results they find. The main aim of this methodology is to improve the teaching-learning process.

The first step is to form a group of teachers who are willing to work together, and of course, they must have a common goal. The next step is to plan the class. The lesson plan is not only useful to have things organized, but also to have an evidence at the end. After that, the team chooses a teacher in charge of teaching the class, while the other teachers have to observe the class and take notes of the positive and negative things. In this step it is advised to record the class for further evaluation. Then, with the lesson plan, the recording, and the observation, teachers work as a team for analyzing all the information they gathered in the study. Lastly, teachers share the results they find in order to help other teachers to improve their teaching.

As a conclusion, the Lesson Study is the methodology that not only let teachers work cooperatively in order to reach a common goal, it also help them to improve their teaching abilities.
